Dr. Severance grew up in northern California. He attended college at Cornell University in upstate New York, where he met his wife Gail. He later graduated from Albany Medical College where he was named the outstanding student in Urology. He then underwent formal Urology training under Dr. Gilbert Ross, Jr. and Dr. Stephen Weinstein in Columbia, Missouri. Professionally, he has practiced in Jefferson City Missouri, since 1994. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at both Capital Regional Medical Center and at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Dr. Severance has a special interest in voiding difficulties, (BPH), Prostate Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Kidney Stones, and Vasectomies.
Dr. Severance has three children that have been in the Jefferson City public school system. Dr. Severance has been active with the Jay Football Boosters and the high school chess team. His current interests include vegetable gardening, growing fruit, hunting, working on his farm, pinball machines, and physical fitness. He is an avid MU Tiger fan, actively supporting both football and basketball.
